DIRECTIONS FROM D.C. AREA: I-66 west to I-81 north. Follow to Rt. 37 bypass just after Stephens City. Right off of I-81 to left on 37. Follow Rt. 37 to Rt. 50. Then left about 5 miles to Rt. 614 on left (Back Mountain Road). Left 3.5 miles to right at Citgo Station (Rt. 753). Go short distance to Shawneeland entrance. Turn right on Maple to next left, still on Maple. Follow Maple 1 mile to Dogwood on right. Turn right to next left on Fir; then bear left up mountain on Wolf Springs Trail for 1 mile to right turn onto Bobcat. Go 8/10 mile to tower on right at gate to Wilderness area. Park at tower. Walk around gate, go about 400+ ft. to beginning of Section 58 on left at electric pole, then another 400+ ft. to wooden fencing on left at end of Section 58. Follow overgrown path through woods to clearing for septic field. Land runs west down mountain to the Blue Trail of the PATC trail system. Print plat from web page for proper orientation. To reach the lakes, return to gate and continue straight ahead to dam.
